The Beginning of Good Things in Seattle

In May, TEDsters Dan and Stacey Levitan generously hosted an event for 826Seattle.  By all accounts it was a huge success and a great fun for all involved.

Here are just some of the results:

  • Wil Shipman pledged a generous donation, along with donating software.  He may also initiate a computer club for kids.
  • Eric Gutierrez has arranged for 826Seattle to be named the benefactor of the DDB Seattle‘s annual fundraising celebrity golf tournament.
  • Two TEDsters are sponsoring tables at 826′s annual fundraising breakfast in San Francisco.
  • A program to have high school student mentors work with 826Seattle programs was developed with a pledge of financing from the Levitans and Walter Smith of the Jackson Fish Market.

We applaud all of these efforts and believe this is just the beginning of more great things.
